Mind is beyond measure. The things on offer are beyond measure. In addition, in the offering, the mind converts the gift and the gift transforms the mind.
Dogen Zenchi, 13th c.
In Buddhism the practice of reciprocity is called dana. Dana means that all training is offered for free – in return, those who receive the teachings also train in offering.
Zen Center Athens is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Zen practices and teachings available to everyone. The lack of financial resources should not prevent you from coming to our events. Apart from material offerings, Dana is a direct expression of the deeper teachings of Buddhism that has to do with our interconnectedness.
There are many and equally important ways to support the Center and its goals by fulfilling Dana’s Buddhist path, namely the practice of mutual offering.
So you can:
- Become a member of Zen Center Athens by paying a monthly subscription.
- Practice regularly and substantially in Zen and the other arts offered at the Center.
- Make a donation.
- Volunteer on the basis of your skills and interests.
